1973 Bertram 31 Flybridge Cruiser

This 1973 Bertram 31 Flybridge is a sportfish cruiser with a long history of active use on offshore waters. Twin 454 MerCruiser Horizon engines installed in 2000 power the boat; they have approximately 2,200 hours and come with Mercury diagnostic computer. ZF Hurth transmissions handle the drive, with all running gear, props, cables, and shifters replaced when the engines were installed. The boat is outfitted for serious fishing, with a removable Murray Brothers offshore fighting chair, 22-foot lee double spreader outriggers, 600 feet of anchor line with 15 feet of chain, and livewell base mount.

The boat's systems have been steadily maintained and upgraded. Fuel capacity totals 286 gallons across a 230-gallon center tank and twin 28-gallon wing tanks, all replaced with aluminum in 2010 along with associated structural work. Fresh water capacity is approximately 30 gallons. Navigation and communication equipment includes a Simrad autopilot with a Simrad NSS3009 chartplotter installed about a year ago, a Hook 7 depthfinder and GPS plotter, Icom VHF radios, and older Raytheon radar. A newer stereo was added three years ago.

The hull received a soda blast and refinish eight years ago with Micron 66 bottom paint. Structural work including bulkheads and stringers has been completed as needed over the decades of ownership. The dripless shaft seals were serviced in 2020, risers were replaced three years ago, and an aft bulkhead was refaced with formica one year ago. The canvas and eisenglass are approximately seven years old. Interior updates include a refrigerator and toilet replaced three years ago, fresh water pump four years old, and batteries installed in 2023. The boat rides on a Pipewelders tower and includes a full suite of offshore fishing gear and rigging.
