This 1973 Custom Carolina 27 National is a rebuilt express cruiser powered by a single Volvo D6-370 diesel engine paired with a ZF transmission. The boat cruises at 28 knots while consuming just 13 gallons per hour, making it efficient for both day trips and extended runs. Maximum speed reaches 32 knots.
The boat underwent a complete refit and rebuild in 2023, with the hull reconstructed entirely in composite materials to eliminate future rot concerns. It holds a single cabin with one head and is designed for trailering—measuring under 14 feet 6 inches on trailer, keeping it DOT-ready for transport.
Electronics and equipment are extensive. The boat is fitted with dual Garmin 1242xsv displays, a Garmin Fantom 18xHD radar, autopilot, and a Garmin 742sv in the tower. Navigation and communication gear includes ICOM VHF radios and an Airmar transducer package. Creature comforts and fishing amenities encompass a Fusion stereo, Lumitec LED lighting throughout, Lenco trim tabs, a bow thruster, MarinAire air conditioning, raw and fresh water washdowns, and four 12-volt electric reel outlets. A Rodan 36-volt 120-pound-thrust trolling motor with lithium power bank and a ProMariner onboard charger round out the setup. GemLux outriggers are also installed.
The boat currently carries no bottom paint and was built with trailering capability in mind.
