This 1974 Doggersbank 63 is a steel offshore expedition yacht built in Holland by Jongert to a design by Dick Boon of Vripack. Designed around North Sea commercial standards, the boat combines a full-length keel, deep forefoot, round bilges, and canoe stern with a Becker articulated rudder and Naiad hydraulic stabilizers. The hull form delivers the seakeeping and offshore durability characteristic of the Doggersbank platform, with an estimated range of 3,500 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 8.5 knots.
Power comes from a single Caterpillar 3408 diesel producing 365 hp, mated to a Caterpillar transmission and driving a 5-blade bronze propeller. The engine underwent major service in October 2024 including turbocharger, seawater pump, cooling circulation pump, and exhaust manifold replacement, plus installation of a new stainless wet exhaust silencer. Current engine hours stand at approximately 6,700. A Northern Lights 16 kW diesel generator provides electrical power, backed by a Magnum MS4024 inverter and 24V DC system. Fuel capacity is 2,700 gallons; fresh water storage totals 1,200 gallons with a Village Marine watermaker aboard.
The interior reflects practical long-range cruising priorities. The pilothouse features a centerline helm with excellent forward visibility and access to side decks. The main salon has built-in settees, large windows, and a soapstone wood-burning heater. The galley includes a Dickinson 4-burner LPG stove with oven, double sinks, and substantial refrigeration. Three staterooms sleep multiple crew: an owner's cabin with queen berth and ensuite head with tub and shower, a starboard single cabin, and forward guest quarters with upper and lower berths. Two heads serve the interior.
Navigation and communications systems include Simrad NSS EVO2, AP48 autopilot, Furuno satellite compass, Garmin GPSMAP 4208, radar, AIS, VHF radios, EPIRB, and satellite phone. Starlink internet is installed. Deck equipment comprises a Lofrans Titan B windlass, three anchors, and 510 feet of chain. A 14-foot Rendova skiff with 50 hp Honda outboard is included. The hull received recent anti-fouling and boot-top paint with Propspeed coating applied to running gear.
