1974 Marshall 22 Cape Cod Catboat

The Marshall 22 is a classic American fiberglass catboat with a distinctive wide beam and shallow draft, designed for stable cruising and day sailing. Its single forward mast carries a gaff-rigged mainsail, and the boat features the characteristic "barn door" rudder typical of Cape Cod-style designs. This 1974 example is a practical family cruiser built to cruise weekends or serve as a capable daysailer.

The boat is powered by a rebuilt Palmer P-60 gasoline engine producing 16 hp at 1700 rpm, installed in 1994. The raw water pump has been replaced, and the exhaust system features copper jacketing. Engine manuals and a parts list are aboard, and the Palmer is supported by a network of Case and International dealers for ongoing maintenance. The boat also has shore power and an automatic bilge pump.

Standing rigging, including the forestay, is in place. The mainsail, approximately 30 years old, remains serviceable and comes with a custom sail cover. The hull was hauled last fall and received a fresh bottom paint this season. Engine-specific tools and spare parts, along with general boat spares, are included with the sale.
