The Columbia 52 is a classic offshore cruising sailboat built in 1975, representing the quality and capability of Columbia's peak production years. At 52 feet with a 13-foot beam, this fiberglass yacht combines a powerful hull form with a long waterline designed for serious passagemaking. The rig and layout reflect its blue-water heritage, offering the stability and seaworthiness expected of a true ocean-capable vessel.
Below deck, the accommodations provide genuine liveaboard comfort. A large salon seats six to eight, while the galley includes a three-burner propane stove with oven, a 40-gallon stainless steel water tank, and an Iceco fridge-freezer. An aft cabin features a queen berth with hanging closet and shelf storage. Amidships is a two-bunk cabin currently configured as a gear locker, and the forepeak has been converted into a large bunk with sail storage beneath. A single head with electric macerator and a cockpit shower with propane hot water complete the facilities. Navigation centers on a large chart table with nine drawers.
The boat carries a Yanmar 3YM30 diesel engine with 2740 hours, paired with a 2006 Kanzaki V-drive transmission and dual 40-gallon fuel tanks. Propulsion is supplemented by an extensive sail inventory including North mainsail, multiple jibs and staysails, two spinnakers, a storm trysail, and a drifter with self-furler, plus a 22-foot carbon fiber spinnaker pole.
Recent upgrades span 2019 to 2025 and include new standing and running rigging, a fresh gel-coat finish on the entire deck, a Hydrovane windvane and Raymarine autopilot system, a bowthruster, a Lofrans windlass, solar panels with Victron charge controller, a Seawater Pro watermaker, a Magnum inverter, a Garmin chartplotter-radar combo, and extensive winch reconfigurations for single-handed operation. A complete inventory of spare parts, extra sails, and rigging hardware is included.
