1975 Custom custom

A 52-foot steel explorer built in 1975 and substantially reconfigured for durability and extended cruising. The hull, deck, and rail construction were reinforced and rebuilt to withstand demanding conditions, with the boat proving itself capable in 6-foot waves on Lake Michigan. Twin Chrysler engines producing 660 horsepower provide power for a cruising speed of 7 knots. The gross weight is 16 tons.

The boat is configured as a bare boat charter platform with open deck space and flexible layout. A removable canopy system covers part of the upper deck, and the structure includes a bathroom module mounted on support posts. The design allows the boat to reduce height to approximately 10 feet when the canopy and bathroom fixtures are removed, enabling transport under highway bridges across the country.

The hull and structural elements were the focus of an extensive rebuild program. The boat has seen six years of active use in bare boat charter service and operates with functional systems throughout. All architectural drawings and schematics prepared for Coast Guard certification inspection are included with the sale.
