1977 Gulfstar 50MkII

The Gulfstar 50 MkII is a center-cockpit cruising yacht built with hand-laid fiberglass and barrier-coated since new, with no blister history. This 1977 example represents the rare two-cabin owner's layout, featuring a full-width aft master stateroom alongside a second private cabin, each with its own head and shower. The design prioritizes comfort and cruising capability in a package that balances spaciousness with seaworthiness.

Below deck, the main salon accommodates eight to ten around a centerline drop-leaf table. The galley runs along one side with a Force 10 stainless steel oven and stove, Isotherm refrigeration with custom freezer, stainless dishwasher, and pressurized hot and cold water. The headliners, cushions, and woodwork were renewed in 2005 and remain in good condition. An L-shaped galley and full-width saloon create an efficient living space for extended cruising.

The yacht is powered by a Yanmar 110 horsepower turbocharged diesel engine installed in 2008, capable of nine-knot cruising. A Fischer Panda 6kW generator with sound shield provides electrical independence, with only 104 hours on the engine. The engine compartment underwent complete refurbishment with access from two points. Fuel capacity is 100 gallons diesel and fresh water capacity is 200 gallons, providing substantial range.

Recent upgrades include a lithium battery bank, Raymarine radar and dual chartplotters, air conditioning in the salon and master stateroom, a Mantis 60-pound anchor with 200 feet of chain, new cockpit cushions, Fusion stereo, and a freshly painted mast. The complete Raymarine electronics suite includes autopilot, depth, wind, speed, and compass instruments. Hood loose-footed mainsail, Genoas, working jib, and cruising spinnaker complete the sail inventory. Safety equipment includes an offshore life raft with hydrostatic release, EPIRB, Lifesling, personal flotation devices, and jacklines throughout.
