This 1977 Scarborough 27 center console is Ricky Scarborough hull #2 and the first of his builds to receive a diesel engine. The fiberglass hull was completely refitted in 2008 by Donnie Caison, a renowned Carolina boat builder, and represents the quality construction Scarborough boats are known for. The single Cummins 6BT diesel engine produces 220 horsepower, delivering a cruising speed of 21 knots and a top speed of 26 knots. At the time of the listing, the engine had logged 5,100 hours.
Recent service and replacement work includes new fuel injectors, exhaust elbow, raw water pump, intake pipe, steering components, fuel tank, shaft seal, running light, belt and tensioner. The heat exchanger and gear cooler were serviced in October 2025. A professional detailing was completed in March 2025.
The boat is outfitted for fishing and cruising with a Simrad NSS9 Evo3 chartplotter, Simrad autopilot, two ICOM VHF radios, and a Fusion stereo with amplifier. Navigation and safety equipment includes Bennett Marine trim tabs and twin Rule automatic bilge pumps. The center helm console features an acrylic windscreen, with a custom leaning post that incorporates a 50-gallon livewell and removable backrest. A welded aluminum T-top with vinyl canopy sits atop five rocket launcher rod holders, complemented by ten gunnel-mounted, two transom-mounted, and two leaning post-mounted rod holders. Additional features include Rupp outriggers, mahogany toe rail with stainless steel rub strip, and dual batteries with selector switch and 30-amp charger.
