1978 CAL 34

This 1978 Cal 34 Mk III is a Bill Lapworth design built to balance racing performance with cruising capability. The Mk III version introduced structural refinements, increased ballast, and a higher-aspect rig compared to earlier versions, resulting in a boat known for speed, seaworthiness, and responsive handling. The yacht features brand-new standing and running rigging throughout. Power comes from an 18 hp Yammer diesel engine.

Below deck, the layout provides genuine comfort for a 34-foot yacht. The forward cabin is a private V-berth with full standing headroom and storage. An enclosed head with marine toilet and sink follows. The main salon includes an L-shaped dinette to port that converts to a double berth and a settee/berth to starboard. The galley aft is U-shaped with a gimbaled stove, icebox, and counter space for meal preparation under way. A quarter berth to starboard completes the accommodations, allowing for six berths total. Teak joinery throughout the interior provides a warm finish.
