This 1978 Cammenga De Vries 20 is a classic motoryacht designed by the renowned De Vries studio. Built to oceangoing standards with a round stern and timeless proportions, the yacht measures 66 feet in length with a 15.5-foot beam. Two John Deere diesel engines produce 560 horsepower, delivering a cruising speed of 11 knots and a maximum speed of 13 knots. A bow thruster and stabilizer fins are installed for enhanced handling and comfort in a seaway.
From 2016 onwards, the yacht underwent a comprehensive structural and technical refit. The superstructure was cut away and rebuilt with an expanded layout and reconfigured interior spaces. The hull received reinforcement where required, and all welds were certified by a RINA engineer. The fuel, freshwater, and waste systems were completely replaced. New electrical and hydraulic installations were carried out with full documentation. New generators, propellers, and an Opacmare hydraulic passerelle were fitted, along with a new Opacmare davit for tender handling.
The interior features five cabins—owner's, guest, and crew quarters—finished with attention to comfort and acoustic isolation throughout. Solid teak decking covers the main and upper deck areas, providing generous exterior space suited to extended cruising. The yacht is equipped for long-range voyages with substantial fuel and water capacity, supported by a 20-kilowatt generator for reliability at sea.
The refit has been documented comprehensively with photographs and records of all work performed. The result is a structurally sound, fully updated classic yacht ready for demanding offshore passages.
