A 1978 Westerly 33 centre cockpit with extensive upgrades and careful ownership since 1984. This fiberglass boat was originally prepared for Atlantic crossings and retains serious offshore capability through reinforced structures, storm-ready features, and enhanced safety systems suited to short-handed sailing. The bilge keels and shallow draft make her well-suited to shallow waters, drying moorings, and close-in cruising. She has been equipped for warmer climates with practical sun protection, improved ventilation, and extended anchoring capability.
The accommodation comprises six berths arranged across two doubles and two singles in a convertible layout. A full navigation suite includes radar, AIS, and autopilot. A hard GRP sprayhood with opening window provides shelter in the cockpit, and a Highfield four-person dinghy is included, with an optional Torqeedo outboard available.
Recent work encompasses a professional Awlgrip hull recoating in 2024, new Treadmaster anti-slip decking, standing rigging replaced in 2024, updated running rigging, renewed guardrails, upgraded batteries, and a new electric anchor windlass installed in 2023. The 90-metre anchor chain was also renewed in 2023. Earlier work included chainplate renewal in 2015. A life raft is included, serviced in 2021, with life jackets serviced in 2024.
