This 1979 Bertram 38 Convertible is a fiberglass sportfisher built for serious offshore work. Twin John Deere diesel engines producing 600 horsepower were installed in 2000 and have accumulated just 1,530 hours. The 38-foot hull with 12.5-foot beam carries the classic Bertram proportions designed for seaworthiness and fuel efficiency.
The yacht accommodates two cabins and one head, laid out for extended cruising or fishing trips. Interior cosmetics were updated as part of recent work. A generator supplies auxiliary power.
A comprehensive refit was completed in 2022 and continued into 2025, addressing both systems and structure. Engine turbochargers and batteries were renewed in 2025. The fuel system received new lines and tanks with fresh water systems overhauled. Fire suppression, steering components, and all exhaust work were replaced or rebuilt. The hull underwent extensive bottom work: blasting, fairing, blister repair, and protection with epoxy barrier coat and bottom paint. New zinc anodes were fitted. Shafts, stuffing boxes, and rudders were pulled, inspected, and rebuilt. Bilge areas were cleaned and painted. Generator exhaust and raw water systems were upgraded. Unnecessary wiring was removed and interior speakers replaced.
