1993 Mediterranean 38 Convertible

The Mediterranean 38 Convertible is a hand-laid fiberglass sportfish with a proven design that balances performance, fishability, and comfortable cruising. Built with a fine entry and moderate deadrise, the 38-footer draws on classic Southern California sportfisher principles. Twin Cummins 6BTA5.9-M1 diesels—mechanical, turbo-aftercooled—deliver efficient cruising in the 22–25 knot range, with a top speed around 28–30 knots. The mechanical engines are known for simplicity and low-cost maintenance, a practical choice for owner-operators.

The two-stateroom layout comprises a forward master cabin, guest stateroom with twin berths, and a spacious salon with functional galley down. The head includes a separate shower stall, a feature less common in this size class. A protected flybridge features a custom hardtop with full enclosure for all-weather visibility and comfort. The cockpit is large and practical, outfitted with a transom door, in-deck fish boxes, and bait tank for fishing and diving work.

Recent service work in 2024 includes full engine servicing on both motors, new shaft seals with quick-replacement capability, a new starboard transmission and port engine starter, new batteries, bottom paint, isinglass, and re-upholstered captain's chairs. Electronics include Furuno radar, Simrad autopilot, GPS plotter, VHF radio, and depthsounder. Below decks are an 8 kW genset, air conditioning, heating, hot water, refrigerator, microwave, and battery charger. Fuel capacity is 400 gallons diesel; water capacity is 100 gallons.
