The 1979 CSY 37 Plan A is a fiberglass cutter built with solid hand-laid construction throughout the hull and deck—no coring, with sections up to three inches thick. This is one of only 87 CSY 37s ever produced, known for heavy-duty build quality and offshore reliability. The boat is powered by a rebuilt Perkins 4-108 diesel engine with 935 hours and cruises at 8 knots with a maximum speed of 12 knots. A rebuilt Borg Warner Velvet Drive transmission and Walter V-Drive handle the propulsion. The hull has been freshly painted, all brightwork refinished, and all deck hardware re-sealed.
Below deck, the Plan A layout includes a forward V-berth with lockers, a private head with shower and stainless sink, a spacious main salon with convertible settees, and a dinette. The galley sits on the starboard aft with a propane stove and oven, oversized stainless sink, and three refrigeration compartments with existing cold plates. A dedicated port aft nav station houses modern electronics. The aft cabin has been opened up for additional space, with a full wet head and storage area aft.
All major mechanical systems have been rebuilt or replaced. New engine wiring, gauges, senders, alternator, starter, injection pump, fuel pump, exhaust components, and hoses are installed. The fresh water system includes a new pump and 120 gallons of capacity, while the 50-gallon aluminum diesel tank is accessible. Two new 92-amp closed-cell batteries with a charger, 50-amp shore power, and all-new LED navigation lighting round out the electrical system. A complete B&G electronics package includes GPS chartplotter, wind monitor, depth and speed transducers, and VHF radio. A new Lofrans Royal manual windlass, new Rolly Tasker sails with running rigging, and new steering components complete the deck. A 10.8-foot inflatable dinghy with Tohatsu outboard is included.
