This 1979 Grand Banks 42 is a fiberglass trawler built for extended cruising in the Pacific Northwest. Twin Ford Lehman diesel engines deliver 120 horsepower each, with approximately 3,100 hours on the engines. The boat cruises at 8 knots and reaches a maximum speed of 10 knots, consuming 6 gallons per hour at cruising speed. Coolant hoses and belts were replaced about three and a half years ago.
The yacht accommodates two cabins with a forward double berth, aft queen berth, and dinette that converts to a berth in the salon. Two full heads and two showers serve the accommodations. The galley features a three-burner LPG stove with oven, double stainless steel sink with hot and cold pressure water, and dual refrigeration units plus an ice maker and 12-volt freezer. A Webasto diesel hydronic heating system warms the cabin, and a 10-gallon 110-volt water heater provides additional hot water.
Navigation and communication systems include dual Garmin and Simrad chartplotters, Furuno 24-mile radar, ComNav autopilot, and VHF radios in both the wheelhouse and flybridge. A Northern Lights 7.5-kilowatt diesel generator powers the electrical system, supported by house and start battery banks. The boat carries an electric windlass with primary and secondary ground tackle, twin electric bilge pumps with manual backup, and halon engine room fire suppression last serviced in 2021.
A large fully enclosed flybridge with new canvas tops the design, alongside twin electric winches for tender operations. The boat includes a fiberglass tender with Evinrude outboard, two spare bronze propellers, and custom exterior canvas rail covers. The bottom was last hauled and painted in June 2025, with new batteries installed in 2023 and latest engine service completed in July 2024.
