1979 Hatteras 53 Motor Yacht

This 1979 Hatteras 53 Motor Yacht is a fiberglass-hulled cruiser built to the exacting standards that defined the maker's reputation. Powered by twin Detroit Diesel engines producing 870 horsepower combined, she reaches a maximum speed of 19 knots and cruises at 16 knots. At 53 feet long with a 16-foot beam, she offers substantial accommodation and entertaining space.

The main salon features parquet flooring, custom cabinetry with a TV lift system, and a lower helm station for protected navigation. All 13 salon and galley windows have been replaced. The galley includes a full-size refrigerator, four-burner cooktop, microwave/convection oven, coffee maker, and extensive Corian countertops alongside a built-in dining area. Three staterooms, each with private ensuite heads and shower stalls finished in ceramic tile, provide sleeping quarters. A washer and dryer are fitted in the forward cabin.

The aft deck is open with comfortable seating, a wet bar with refrigerator, and a hi-lo table for entertaining. The flybridge offers commanding sightlines and a helm station outfitted with Garmin navigation, Fusion stereo, and Furuno autopilot. A custom stainless-steel and wooden ladder provides bridge access. Wide side decks with wooden railings lead forward to the bow; a Bimini top installed in 2018 shades the flying bridge.

Both Detroit Diesel engines were completely rebuilt in 2019. The entire hull received a professional Awlgrip paint job, and transom windows were sandblasted, powder-coated, and reinstalled. An extensive inventory of spare parts and tools is included.
