This 36-foot Prairie Boat Works trawler is a fiberglass-hulled diesel trawler built in 1979. The boat is powered by three Perkins engines and reaches a cruising speed of 10 knots with a maximum speed of 12 knots. The beam measures 13.5 feet, providing a solid working platform.
Recent work includes new water faucets and approximately 95 percent of the water lines replaced, an in-line house water filter, a new water heater, and a new electric toilet in the rear head. The starboard Perkins motor has been reworked with a new heat exchanger and runs well. The second motor has been degreased and painted, with most or all of the necessary parts for completion on board. The hull was repainted five years ago.
The boat requires a bottom job and attention to the windows and hatches, which need to be removed, cleaned, and reinstalled as the existing caulking has degraded. This is a project-stage vessel suited to an owner prepared to complete the remaining systems work and cosmetic restoration.
