1980 Cape Dory 33

The Cape Dory 33 is a traditional full-keel cruising sailboat designed by Carl Alberg, known for stability and all-weather performance. Built with a fiberglass hull and finished to high standards, she features bronze cleats, opening ports, and traditional deck hardware throughout. A masthead sloop with oversized rigging, she carries generous sail area and performs well in both light and strong conditions. The boat is powered by a 23 hp Volvo MD11C diesel engine with a 21-gallon fuel tank and bronze propeller.

The interior combines teak and select hardwoods with a teak and holly sole, creating a warm and spacious layout. The main saloon includes a drop-leaf table with two settee berths, one extending to a double, sleeping up to six. To starboard sits a navigation station, quarter berth, and hanging wet locker. To port, a U-shaped galley features generous counter and storage space, a deep double sink, large ice box, and gimballed three-burner stove. A fully enclosed head offers ample cabinet storage, a hamper, wash basin, and shower.

The boat is well-equipped for cruising. Sail inventory includes a mainsail with green cover and two reefs, storm jib, 125% furling genoa, older hank-on 150% genoa, and spinnaker with pole. Rigging hardware includes Schaefer roller furling, boom vang, halyard winch, and Lewmar genoa winches. Navigation and safety equipment encompass VHF radio, Autohelm autopilot with wind instruments, Ritchie compass, knot meter, depth sounder, and various gauges. The boat has dual 12-volt batteries that require replacement, 30-amp shore power, 84 gallons of fresh water across three tanks, a 35-gallon holding tank, and a Cole cabin heater. A steel cradle is included.
