The CS 36 Traditional is a 1980 fiberglass sailing yacht built on proven lines that reward serious sailors. At 36 feet overall with an 11-foot 6-inch beam and drawing 4 feet 11 inches, she displaces 15,500 pounds and carries 35 gallons of fuel, 82 gallons of water, and 32 gallons of holding capacity. A 33-horsepower Westerbeke diesel with 1,932 hours (rebuilt in 1999) provides auxiliary power through a direct drive and feathering bronze propeller.
Below deck, the teak interior includes a saloon, full galley with a three-burner propane stove and oven, a V-berth cabin with 6-foot 4-inch headroom, and one head. The galley and shower draw hot water via both 120-volt shore power and engine circulation. Storage is ample throughout for extended passages.
On deck, the rig features rod rigging (inspected 2021) with a North mainsail (2010) fitted with lazy jacks and stackpack, a furling genoa by Kingston (2002), and an asymmetrical spinnaker by Sobstad (2005). A rebuilt NAVTEC hydraulic backstay (2020) supports the main, complemented by a boom vang. The winch package includes two primary Lewmar ST 44s and five additional Lewmar winches positioned on the cabin tops.
Equipment is comprehensive: Raymarine electronics including i60 depth, speed and wind display (2021), 4000 autopilot (2010), and GPS Lighthouse/Elements (2022); Uniden VHF radio; four 24-volt batteries with Xantrex charger; 110-watt inverter; and an anchor windlass with 35-pound CQR anchor, 160 feet of chain, and 50 feet of rode. Canvas includes a dodger, bimini, and full enclosure (windows renewed 2023). New Sunbrella upholstery was installed in 2018. Two steering wheels—a 40-inch folding and a 36-inch covered—sit above complete cockpit cushions with captain's seats.
