1980 Kanter Staysail Cutter

This 1980 Kanter Staysail Cutter is a welded steel offshore cruising pilothouse sailboat built in Canada. The full-displacement hull features a steeply raked stem, ballast keel, Brewer cutaway skeg-hung rudder, and round chines with a reinforced reverse-raked stern. The aluminum mast is deck-stepped with stainless steel shrouds, internal chain plates, and a single spreader. All sails are trimmed to 90 percent. A single Volvo Penta diesel engine of 75 horsepower powers the boat.

The deck layout includes curved foredecks with a raised cabin trunk and pilothouse aft. Wide outboard side decks are fitted with stainless steel railings, stanchions, and cable lifelines. An aft open cockpit provides bench seating and a helm pedestal.

Interior access is through a companionway with hinged teak doors and sliding overhead hatch. The cabin holds aft open berths on both port and starboard, a galley, and a dinette settee to port facing a pair of swivel seats and table. An inside helm station is positioned forward to starboard. Forward of the main cabin is a starboard berth with a head compartment to port and a V-berth in the bow.
