This 1980 Tuna Rose Brothers is a 50-foot custom sportfish built with cold-molded wood construction and designed for fishing and charter work. The hull features seven coats of epoxy paint with fiberglass reinforcement below the waterline, while the decks are epoxy fiberglass with Awlgrip topcoat. Twin Detroit diesel engines of 750 hp each drive the boat through Twin Disc transmissions, with a live hydraulic winch powered from the port engine and operable from the wheelhouse.
The interior includes a V-berth with custom panels and mahogany cabinetry, a galley with mahogany cabinetry, and a wheelhouse with new teak and holly flooring, mahogany cabinetry, and two additional bunks. Accommodations feature an AC unit serving the galley and V-berth area, baseboard heating with an indirect hot water system, and one head. A new 22.5 kW Onan genset provides auxiliary power, with new wiring panels, battery compartments, and stainless plumbing throughout.
The boat carries modern electronics including dual 2022 Garmin 8616 units, two VHF radios with AIS, a CHIRP transducer, and a 30-mile dome radar antenna. The wheelhouse includes a new anodized rail 29.5 inches high with custom rod holders. All fasteners are stainless steel, and a new Bomar hatch was added to meet Coast Guard specifications. The crash wall has been upgraded for watertight integrity.
