This 1981 CAL 25II Mk II is a fiberglass sloop built to the well-regarded Lapworth design. The boat displaces 4,500 pounds with a 2,000-pound keel, delivering a stiff platform for her size. A 9.9 hp Tohatsu outboard with remote throttle and gear shifter was installed in October 2021 and mounted on a substantial motor bracket.
The design offers notably spacious proportions for a 25-footer, with a 9-foot beam and a deep, comfortable cockpit that rivals larger boats. Wide side decks and tall toe rails provide secure footing, while inboard shrouds keep the forward deck unobstructed. The helm is well-balanced and responsive—light enough for easy handling even in strong conditions. The V-berth sleeps two, and the teak interior reflects CAL's build quality. There is one head and attractive cushioning throughout.
The bottom was repainted in April of this year. The hull received cosmetic work in 2008 with new Imron striping. The boat was previously owned by Rooke Sails, who carried the CAL line as dealers in the 1980s.
