1981 C&C 40

The 1981 C&C 40 is a 39-foot fiberglass sloop built for both racing and cruising. Designed with a beam of 12.6 feet, this high-performance motorsailer combines classic lines with purposeful design. Power comes from a 44 hp Westerbeke diesel engine with direct drive, which has logged only 555 hours of operation. The boat reaches a maximum speed of 7.4 knots.

Below deck, the layout includes one head. The interior is arranged for comfortable cruising, with thoughtful accommodation spaces suited to extended time at sea.

The engine was replaced new in 2010. Standing and running rigging was renewed in 2012, along with new number 2 and 3 genoas. The number 1 genoa dates to 2006. A new mainsail and spinnaker were installed in 2026. The propeller and through-hulls were replaced in 2023. Navigation equipment includes a Garmin GPS installed in 2012 and a depth gauge added in 2023. The air conditioning system is from 2020. A new battery charger and Bluetooth stereo were both added in 2023.
