This 1981 Hatteras 48 Motor Yacht is a fiberglass displacement cruiser built around a solid, proven design. Twin Detroit Diesel engines rated at 870 horsepower give her a cruising speed of 15 knots and a top speed of 18 knots. The yacht's 48-foot length and 15-foot beam establish a traditional, seaworthy platform suited to extended passages and comfortable ocean cruising.
The interior layout centers on three staterooms, each with its own head, plus a full galley and spacious salon. Below decks, the galley was rebuilt with a Wolf induction cooktop, KitchenAid convection oven, Samsung side-by-side refrigerator, and solid surface countertops. New teak and holly sole and a teak dinette complete the galley area. A Phazor 15kw generator supports the modern air-conditioning system and all onboard systems.
The yacht received an extensive refit in 2015 that included new interior joinery and flooring throughout, fresh Awlgrip exterior paint, updated plumbing with new pumps and faucets, Raritan Elegance freshwater heads, and Leviton lighting controls. The flybridge carries a Garmin electronics suite and a hardtop with isinglass enclosure, while a generous aft deck provides space for entertaining or anchoring out.
The combination of the Hatteras hull and the 2015 refit brings contemporary systems and finishes to a fundamentally sound, long-range cruising platform.
