The Norseman 447 is a 44-foot cruising yacht designed by Robert H. Perry and built by Ta Shing in Taiwan. Its fiberglass hull combines an extended fin keel with encapsulated lead ballast, a skeg-hung rudder, and moderate displacement to deliver stable, forgiving motion in offshore conditions. The cutter rig provides versatility for varied wind and sea states, while wide side decks and a secure cockpit support safe, confident handling for short-handed sailing. A bow thruster aids close-quarters maneuvering.
The interior features a warm teak finish with quality joinery throughout. Two private cabins, two heads, a spacious main salon, and an offshore-ready galley with substantial storage create both comfort and practicality for extended cruising. Generous tank capacity and thoughtful stowage support long-range independence.
Navigation and systems are well-equipped. A Furuno GP1870F chartplotter, Raymarine i-TriData depth and speed instruments, Raymarine wind instruments, and AIS Class B transceiver provide comprehensive helm information. A Monitor Wind Vane self-steering system with stainless steel transom brackets offers reliable autonomous sailing. Solar power contributes to energy independence, and a NEMA 2000 network integrates onboard systems. Standing rigging was replaced in 2023.
The diesel Lehman/Indenor engine produces 61 horsepower and delivers a cruising speed of seven knots, supporting efficient passagemaking and coastal work.
