1981 Post 46 Convertible

This 1981 Post 46 Convertible is a fiberglass sportfish built for extended offshore operation. Twin Detroit diesel engines rated at 900 horsepower, recently rebuilt by Billy Joe Groom, drive the boat to a cruising speed of 23 knots and a maximum speed of 27 knots. The engines carry only 500 hours since the top-end rebuilds and are equipped with block heaters. A Northern Lights 8.5 kW generator with 74 hours of use provides onboard power.

The interior includes two cabins and two heads arranged for comfortable cruising. The boat spans 46 feet in length with a 15.75-foot beam, providing substantial volume for galley, saloon, and sleeping quarters. Two air conditioning units support climate control throughout.

The hull was hauled and bottom-painted in 2025, with props serviced at that time. A 2022 survey documents the boat's condition. The boat has been professionally maintained through seasonal winterization and commissioning. The steering, throttles, and tower controls require replacement. The RPM gauges need attention, as do through-hull valves on both engines and various hoses throughout the systems. A life raft and dinghy rack are installed on the foredeck.
