1981 Rough Water 37 Sedan

This 1981 Rough Water 37 Sedan is a classic Ed Monk design built on a solid fiberglass hull. The boat features a slender, easily driven hull form that delivers good speed and fuel economy for its size and type. The hull was constructed using hand lay-up fiberglass with alternating layers of mat and woven roving, reinforced with six mahogany longitudinal stringers and bonded structural components throughout, all fastened with stainless steel hardware.

Power comes from a Cummins 6B naturally aspirated diesel engine rated at 220 horsepower, installed in 2018 with only 50 hours of running time. The boat cruises at 10 knots and is designed for efficient long-range cruising rather than speed.

The layout is versatile and accommodates overnight cruising with one head. The interior combines traditional marine joinery with practical cruising accommodations. All major systems have been replaced and upgraded, reflecting a comprehensive restoration program.
