The S2 11.0A is a 36-foot fiberglass sailing yacht built in 1981 by S2, a builder recognized for quality sailboats throughout the 1980s. The boat is powered by a Volvo MD17C diesel engine producing 35 horsepower with only 1,053 hours of use. It carries a substantial sail inventory including backup sails and a spinnaker, and is equipped with a hydraulic backstay adjuster installed in 2017.
The deck and rigging have been extensively restored. The standing rigging was completely replaced, a new mast step installed, and the mast and boom reconditioned, rewired, and repainted. The hull bottom was stripped and prepped in 2015, then finished with seven coats of epoxy barrier coat. All through-hull fittings were replaced at that time, and a Guest grounding plate with bonding system was installed.
The interior accommodations include one head with a Jabsco electric toilet. Main salon windows were replaced with Lexan, and opening ports were upgraded to Lewmar units. LED lighting throughout and an EnviroCool 16,000 BTU air conditioning system provide comfort. Navigation and safety electronics include a Raymarine 70 VHF radio with AIS, SPX-5 autopilot, R130 GPS, and full USCG-approved safety equipment.
