1981 Sumerset Houseboat

This 1981 Sumerset is a 58-foot aluminum houseboat powered by twin Volvo Penta engines producing 680 horsepower combined. The boat underwent a complete interior rebuild in 2019–2020, with the entire interior removed and reconstructed. Ceilings and walls are fully insulated for New England winters, and all windows are new thermopane units. The hull features a newer multi-coat paint job on the bottom.

The interior layout centers on a master suite with a full bathroom, plus a dedicated laundry room with washer and dryer. A four-season sunroom with panoramic windows functions as primary living space and can serve as a second stateroom. New engineered-wood flooring runs throughout, and all interior walls are freshly painted. Cabinetry is new throughout, and the galley features quartz countertops with subway tile backsplash.

Wiring and lighting are new, and all appliances—including Samsung washer, dryer, and other kitchen equipment—are new high-end units. Windows are positioned throughout the boat to maximize natural light and interior openness. The design and renovation work reflect standards above typical production houseboats of this era.
