This 1982 Cape Dory 30 is a full-keel cutter designed by Carl Alberg, built with fiberglass and classic proportions suited to coastal cruising and longer passages. The yacht draws 4 feet 2 inches and measures 30 feet overall with a 9-foot beam. Its traditional design and robust construction reflect the care taken in the original build.
The cabin layout includes a V-berth forward, salon settees, and one head. The galley is fitted with an Origo alcohol stove and two-bowl sink, along with both air-cooled and evaporator cooling systems. Power comes from a Beta 20 diesel engine paired with a ZF 15MIV transmission, installed in 2010 and now carrying 700 hours. A 44-inch prop shaft and muffler complete the propulsion package.
Sailing systems are well-equipped: the mainsail is a 6.63 HMW Dacron with two reefs and battens, backed by a spare mainsail. The inventory also includes staysail, yankee, genoa, and spinnaker. Standing rigging was replaced in 2015 and tuned in 2023. Furlex roller furlers handle both the 100 and 200 sized sails, and a Harken lazy jack kit assists deployment. A Raymarine autopilot provides self-steering assistance.
Recent electrical updates include two lithium house batteries, an AGM start battery, and a Victron DC-DC charger installed in 2025. The system also features a Xantrex 1500W inverter/charger, dual solar panels with controller, and comprehensive panel architecture via Blue Sea Systems components. Navigation and safety systems include AIS, while anchoring capability is provided by a 33-pound Rocna anchor and spare, with 100 feet of chain. Deck and cabin were restored in 2008; electrical systems underwent overhaul in 2006. Comprehensive maintenance records are on file.
