1988 CS 30

This 1988 CS 30 is a 30-foot fiberglass sailing yacht built by the renowned Canadian shipyard CS Yachts. Designed by Tony Castro, the boat combines a responsive, modern hull with thoughtful interior volume that maximizes usable space for a yacht of its size. The shallow-draft lead wing keel (4'6") makes it well-suited to exploring protected waters while maintaining strong upwind performance and stability.

Below deck, the layout centers on a main salon with good headroom and seating on both sides, a private aft cabin with a double berth—uncommon in a 30-footer from this era—and a functional galley. The salon's starboard settee folds into an additional double berth. A forward cabin with vee berth and a head with manual toilet and holding tank complete the accommodations. Navigation station and ample locker storage are integrated throughout.

The boat carries an 18 hp Volvo diesel with a two-blade folding Gori propeller and spare. Sails include a North Dacron full-batten mainsail, Triton stack pack, Dacron furling genoa, spinnaker, and spinnaker pole. Rigging features Harken roller furling, Lewmar 43 primary winches, Lewmar 40 cabintop winches, hydraulic backstay adjuster, and Spinlock rope clutches with control lines led aft. A Garmin wheel pilot, Silva instruments, Nexus wind indicator, Galaxy compass, and Apelco VHF provide navigation and communication.

Recent upgrades include a new battery charger, rewired electrical panel, fresh water pump impeller, re-upholstered cushions, and new Triton winter storage cover and folding cradle. The Isotherm refrigeration, Force 10 stove with oven, hot and cold pressure water, dual batteries, and full weather canvas—dodger, bimini, and connector panel—round out the outfit. The boat includes spare anchors, bosun's chair, and additional spare parts.
