This 1982 Stevens 47 is a center cockpit cutter designed by Sparkman & Stephens and built by Queen Long Marine in Taiwan. At 47 feet with a beam of 14 feet 4 inches, she displaces 39,649 pounds and carries 14,500 pounds of ballast, giving her the heavy-displacement characteristics prized in offshore cruisers. The fiberglass hull sits on a fin keel with skeg-hung rudder. Power comes from a Perkins Sabre M92B diesel installed in 2009, producing 86 horsepower and turning a Max-Prop feathering propeller through a Hurth reduction gear. The engine has approximately 2,631 hours and cruises at roughly 7.5 knots.
The interior is finished throughout in teak with teak and holly sole. Accommodations include a master stateroom with a double berth aft, a port cabin with upper and lower singles, and a forward V-berth, along with salon pipe berths for additional sleeping capacity. Two heads are fitted with toilets, sinks, and showers. The galley features a Shipmate three-burner stove with oven, double stainless sink, and both refrigeration and freezer. A Spectra watermaker and Webasto diesel heating system with continuous hot water serve the entire boat.
The electrical system runs 12V and 110V, managed by a Magnum inverter-charger and two Relion 300-amp-hour lithium batteries with a dedicated AGM engine start battery. A dual alternator charging system handles battery replenishment. Navigation and communications equipment include Furuno chartplotter, radar, and autopilot; Garmin AIS; Maretron tank and systems monitoring; dual ICOM VHF and SSB radios; and an Iridium satellite phone.
Sailing gear is extensive: keel-stepped mast with Harken roller furling, Dyneema running rigging, Navtec hydraulic vang and backstay, custom bowsprit, self-tailing winch package with a new Seldén electric model, and a new Lewmar 12V windlass. The sail inventory includes mainsail, storm trisail, staysails, genoas, jibs, roller-furling headsails, spinnakers, drifter, and storm sails. The deck is molded fiberglass non-skid with no teak to maintain. An interior headliner was renewed in 2024.
