This 50-foot Durbeck is a staysail ketch built with a fiberglass hull and deck, finished in white with a blue sheer stripe. The molded fiberglass hull carries an Awlgrip finish, while the deck features nonskid treatment. Full stainless steel rails run around the deck in place of lifelines, and a hardtop with full acrylic enclosure provides weather protection. Lexan storm shutters protect the portlights.
Power comes from a Perkins 4-236 80-horsepower diesel engine with a Borg Warner Velvet Drive transmission and bronze propeller. The rig carries white aluminum masts and booms with stainless steel rigging, including Doyle roller-furling genoa and staysail, a Doyle mainsail with stack pack, and a mizzen sail. Five self-tailing winches, lazy jacks on the main and mizzen, and a Maxwell 3500 electric windlass added in 2022 support sail handling. Recent additions include new mainsail sheets and halyards from 2022–2023, new sun covers on both foresails, and a new S.T. main winch.
Systems and accommodations support extended cruising and live-aboard use. The boat holds 200 gallons of fuel and 480 gallons of fresh water, with a 2022 Spectra water maker. Climate control includes a 16,000-BTU diesel cabin heater, a solid fuel stove, and two Mermaid air-conditioning units (16,000 and 9,000 BTU). Power comes from a Northern Lights 8-kilowatt diesel generator, a 2.8-kilowatt Magnum inverter, and four Trojan 6-volt house batteries with newer solar panels added in 2023. Two heads with composting air heads and a stall shower aft support the accommodations. The galley includes a 2022 Force 10 stainless steel propane stove with oven and broiler, microwave, and refrigerator with freezer. Electronics include a Garmin Echomap chartplotter, 2024 Sitex radar, SSB radio, VHF with AIS, and a 2025 Raymarine hydraulic autopilot. A 2022 West Marine Hypalon RIB dinghy with 9.9-horsepower outboard is included with davits.
