This 1983 Grand Banks 42 is a fiberglass-hulled trawler powered by twin 120-horsepower Ford Lehman diesel engines with approximately 2,800 hours. The boat cruises at 7–9 knots and reaches a maximum speed of 10 knots, burning 3.5–4.0 gallons per hour at 8 knots. Recent engine work includes replacement of hoses, oil coolers, circulation pumps, valve cover gaskets, and a new exhaust manifold on the port engine; both transmissions have been professionally rebuilt. The hull is white with a dark blue boottop and blue bottom. A 2021 Vetus bow thruster runs on dedicated lithium batteries, and a 2015 Maxwell horizontal windlass with foot controls at the bow and bridge handles anchoring. Fuel capacity is 600 gallons across two tanks, fresh water is 260 gallons in three tanks, and the holding tank holds 50 gallons.
The yacht sleeps six in three staterooms with two heads. The forward guest cabin features a large vee berth with an overhead hatch and dedicated air conditioning. The second guest stateroom, amidship to port, holds a double berth plus a pipe berth option and includes a separate head with shower. The master stateroom spans the full beam aft, with a centerline queen berth, split head and shower compartments for port and starboard, and extensive teak cabinetry. The main salon includes the lower helm to starboard with full instrumentation and teak wheel, a galley running to port, and a custom L-shaped dinette with new cushions. A three-burner Princess electric stove and oven, microwave, and under-counter Grunert refrigeration with separate freezer serve the galley. The interior features solid teak bulkheads and trim throughout, parquet teak flooring, and vinyl headliners.
Recent major work includes 2021 hatch removal and rebuilding with new hardware, 2022 deep-cycle house batteries and a new Victron charger-inverter, and 2020 window removal, cleaning, rebedding, and replacement. The flybridge sports a 2026 blue Sunbrella bimini with skirting and includes radar, GPS, VHF, autopilot, and engine controls. A custom teak and mahogany swim platform with a full-width companionway was built in 2020, fitted with a stainless folding ladder and new rubrail. A 2018 Onan 7.5 kilowatt generator with 450 hours powers all ship systems simultaneously. The boat carries three anchors—including a 2022 65-pound Mantus with 200 feet of 4G chain—plus 150 feet of 3/8 auxiliary chain and rode. All deck hardware and fittings are bronze or stainless steel. Full service logs are available.
