1983 Hinterhoeller Niagara 35

This 1983 Hinterhoeller Niagara 35 is a fiberglass cruising sailboat built in Canada to designs by naval architect Mark Ellis. The boat features a full-battened mainsail (replaced in 2003 and serviced in 2021), a 110% jib/genoa (new in 2021), and a gennaker in good condition, totaling 598 square feet of sail plan. Power comes from a Westerbeke 35E diesel engine rated at 33 horsepower with just 955 operating hours. The yacht is rigged with roller furling, high-quality hardware, Navtec rod rigging, and twin autopilots, making it manageable for single-handed sailing or a small crew.

The interior is finished in oiled teak with varnished pine detailing throughout. Below deck accommodates six people across an offset double V-berth forward, a quarter berth, an open saloon with wrap-around sofa and drop-leaf table, a spacious head, and a U-shaped galley aft. Teak soles and molded berth faces maintain the cabin's solid construction and bright, airy feel. The galley is equipped with a propane stove and oven, refrigerator, and sink.

Navigation and communication systems include Raymarine radar, wind display, autopilot, and depth gauge, alongside a Standard Horizon GPS chart plotter and VHF radio. An AIS transponder, 110-volt inverter, solar panel, and washdown pump round out the equipment package. The design features a high bow and four-inch bulwarks that help shed water, while a keel with spade rudder provides stable tracking and responsive handling. This boat has been operated only in fresh water.
