This 1978 Custom Fantasia is a 35-foot double-ended cutter built to Lloyd's certificate with a fiberglass hull and trunk cabin. The dark blue hull was Awlgripped in 1996, and the white cabin features teak exterior trim and a teak deck overlay over molded fiberglass in very good condition. The boat underwent significant professional modification for cruising performance, including a 3-foot aft extension of the keel when a bowsprit was added. In 2005, the hull bottom was blasted and epoxy-coated with Epiglass and Interthane barrier. The boat is equipped with stainless steel stanchions, double lifelines, bronze opening portlights, hydraulic wheel steering with a teak wheel, and a boom gallows frame.
Power comes from a 2005 Yanmar 4JH4E diesel engine producing 54 horsepower, paired with a Yanmar KM85P transmission. The engine has approximately 3,000 hours and received a 2,000-hour service around 2017. The shaft is stainless steel with a three-bladed bronze Campbell propeller. In 2022, the stuffing box was repacked and a new cutlass bearing was installed. Tankage includes 31 gallons of fuel in an aluminum tank (new 2005), 210 gallons of fresh water in stainless steel, and 28 gallons for holding in fiberglass. The electrical system features eight new 6V lead-acid house and start batteries installed in 2024, a 2000 75-amp alternator, a West Marine 20-amp charger, and both 12V and 110V AC power with circuit breaker panels.
The interior accommodates six and showcases thoughtful layout with a forward vee berth, large navigator's station with chart table, two refrigeration systems (including a 2020 Sea Frost unit), a galley with a Dickinson two-burner propane stove with oven and broiler, and a walk-in workshop with standing headroom. The aft owner's stateroom features an offset double berth, a custom 2020 Portland mattress, and abundant storage. A separate walk-through head with shower completes the accommodations. Teak cabin sole and white cushions throughout. The 2022 main sail by Hallett pairs with a staysail on Harken roller furler and a 2005 Yankee on a Furlex furler, along with original storm sails and a gennaker.
