1983 Stuart Marine 62 Custom Ketch

This 62-foot ketch was designed by Allan Erickson and built by Stuart Marine as a custom cruising yacht. Her fiberglass hull measures 16 feet across the beam and was constructed with substantial thickness, giving her strong load-carrying capacity and stability in a range of conditions. She carries a single 135-horsepower Perkins diesel engine that drives her at 8 knots cruising speed, with a maximum speed of 9.5 knots and a 2,500-nautical-mile range under power alone.

The boat sleeps two cabins with two heads and includes a full bathtub, washer and dryer, and brass fireplace. The master cabin features a centerline queen bed with custom headboard. Topside, the aft deck accommodates six people for al fresco dining. Interior ventilation is extensive throughout, and the deck avoids teak in favor of other materials.

Built with deep bilges and substantial beam to handle open-ocean conditions, she was designed for serious long-distance passagemaking. Her owners have maintained her through continuous upgrades and improvements. She is equipped with a 14-foot Novurania dinghy carrying a 2022 50-horsepower Yamaha outboard. The boat has cruised extensively and shows well given her age and the demanding service record she has seen.
