1984 Freedom 32

This 1984 Freedom 32 is a Gary Hoyt design built on proven sailing principles. The fiberglass hull measures 32.8 feet in length with a 12.5-foot beam and is powered by a 22-horsepower Yanmar diesel engine. The boat cruises at 8 knots and reaches a maximum speed of 12 knots.

The standout feature is the free-standing tapered carbon fiber mast, which requires no standing stays and eliminates obstructions on the forward deck. The mast is epoxy coated and maintenance-free. New running rigging runs aft to the cockpit with two Barient 23 two-speed winches and clutches. Navigation and autopilot systems include a new Garmin 18 radar interfaced with chart plotter and GPS. Sail handling is simplified with a self-tending jib, reefing system, lazy jacks for main storage, Stackpak sail cover, and a newer Harstick main. A Hoyt gun mount spinnaker with boom is included. Wheel steering and an autopilot are fitted.

Below deck, the cabin accommodates crew with a toilet and shower, hot and cold pressure water, LPG stove and oven, and a converted reefer and freezer box. A Force 10 LPG heater provides warmth. Power is managed with three heavy-duty Interstate batteries, a charger, and an inverter. Onboard systems include a TV and stereo. The feathering Max Prop propeller aids fuel efficiency.

Additional equipment includes a 33-pound Bruce claw anchor with chain and rode, a 9-foot RHI inflatable dinghy with Suzuki 6-horsepower outboard, Bimini top and hard dodger, and a Life Sling rescue pack with auto-float lighting. The Yanmar diesel was recently upgraded and serviced.
