1984 Grand Banks 36 Classic

This 1984 Grand Banks 36 Classic is a hand-laid fiberglass trawler with a hard-chined, deep vee hull and full keel. Powered by a single Cummins 6BT5.9 diesel producing 210 hp with just 525 hours, the boat cruises at 7.5 knots and reaches 9.0 knots at full throttle. The hull carries a hard-chined, deep vee configuration protected by a full keel, skeg, and fiberglass rudder. The 3-bladed bronze Hytorq prop is guarded by the skeg, and a line cutter protects the shaft. Awlgrip Oyster white paint covers the hull and mast; the blue boottop and red bottom complete the exterior.

The teak decks are very well maintained, as is all brightwork and varnish throughout. The teak swim platform is new, outfitted with stainless boarding ladder and recently refastened. Bronze stanchions, fittings, and an anchor windlass with dual helm controls complete the exterior deck hardware. The superstructure is molded fiberglass with exterior teak trim in excellent condition. New window tracks were installed in 2024, and an electric winch mounted on the boom handles tender deployment.

Below deck, the layout provides two cabins with en-suite heads. The forward cabin features a vee berth with hanging locker and large overhead hatch. Forward is a dedicated head with shower, manual toilet, and substantial storage. The salon spans the boat's beam with a teak drop-leaf table, L-shaped seating to starboard and a port settee that converts to a berth, all with under-storage. The galley includes a new Norcold refrigerator-freezer, a three-burner Princess Gourmet propane stove with oven, and a stainless sink. The aft cabin holds a queen berth to starboard and single to port, served by an aft head with shower and manual toilet.

The engine room underwent major work: a 2019 transmission, new fuel and cooling hoses, an overhauled Westerbeke 4kw generator, fresh water heater, and an enlarged transom exhaust port. Dual helms with chain-and-cable steering, complete electronic updates including 2015 Simrad radar, GPS, AIS, and autopilot, plus new battery banks and smart charger round out the refit. A 1998 Avon 2.5 RIB with outboard hoist and a 2003 Avon 10-footer are included equipment. Tankage comprises 400 gallons fuel, 170 gallons fresh water, and 30 gallons holding with macerator.
