The 1984 Hatteras 36 Convertible is a classic sportfisherman built on Hatteras's reputation for solid fiberglass construction and seaworthy offshore design. She is powered by twin Crusader CH350 inboards producing 350 horsepower each, 700 total, on direct drive. The hull carries a deep V shape and fuel capacity of 400 gallons, supporting extended range and comfortable cruising. A full round of engine maintenance was completed in 2024 and 2025, including alignments, fuel pumps, impellers, spark plugs, wires, distributor caps, and a carburetor rebuild on the starboard engine.
The layout centers on a large fishing cockpit with wide side decks, a flybridge with helm controls commanding good visibility, and working room for entertaining or relaxing. The salon includes a galley forward, V berth, and an enclosed head with separate shower. An Onan 6.5 kW generator provides onboard power.
Recent work includes a newly installed lower helm station, fresh paint on the deck and wood trim, new headliner, new batteries, a Garmin chartplotter and depth finder, new refrigerator, hot water tank, fresh water pump, and kitchen faucet. The head has been upgraded to a Jabsco electric flush toilet. Navigation equipment includes VHF radio and a full complement of electronics.
