The Mason 43 Cutter is a proven offshore cruiser built for serious passages. Her full keel, generous overhangs, and heavy displacement provide the seakindly motion and stability expected of a proper blue-water yacht. The design rewards patient sailors with a platform capable of ocean crossings.
The owner who acquired the boat in 2012 undertook substantial work over the following years. The Perkins 50 hp diesel was completely rebuilt. The teak decks were removed and the topsides were painted with Alexseal. The bottom received an epoxy coating, and all exterior teak was refinished. Solar panels and a lithium battery system were installed to power the refrigerator and reduce engine running time.
This example was the final Mason 43 built before the yard moved to the 44-foot model. In 2022, the owner sailed her successfully to Halifax.
