A 1984 Morgan 384 designed by Ted Brewer, this 38-foot fiberglass sloop combines proven ocean-cruising pedigree with a comprehensive refit program. The hull features a modified fin keel and skeg-hung rudder, delivering the balanced handling and seaworthiness the design is known for. Power comes from a Yanmar 4JH57 diesel engine with fewer than 200 hours since installation, paired with new mounts, transmission, and instrument panel. The boat reaches a maximum speed of 9 knots and cruises at 7 knots.
Below deck, the two-cabin layout centers on a spacious salon with an L-shaped settee to port and single settee to starboard, both with under-seat storage. A large folding table provides flexibility for dining and navigation. The forward V-berth and rear quarter-berth are fitted with latex mattresses installed in 2021. A head with shower, hot and cold water, and a water-saving showerhead services the accommodations. Four NorthStar AGM house batteries sit beneath the quarter-berth; a fifth battery powers the engine. Total fuel capacity is 40 gallons, supporting approximately 300 miles under engine at 5 to 6 knots. Water tanks hold 70 gallons. An AC system, Heart Interface inverter, and five dimmable LED lights round out the interior systems.
On deck, the standing rigging was professionally installed new in 2021, as were the mainsail and genoa with furling and reefing systems. A spinnaker is included. The enclosed cockpit features Lewmar 45 two-speed winches on each side and a two-speed winch for the mainsail. Navigation includes a Raymarine C80 plotter, 24-inch radar, ST60 wind and depth gauges, and a Cetrek hydraulic autopilot. A 3.5kW generator provides reserve power. Solar panels mounted to the bimini, paired with a Victron controller, supply additional charging capability.
The yacht carries comprehensive cruising equipment: HF SSB radio, EPIRB, self-inflating life raft, twin brass Dorade vents, wind scoops, water maker, and an extensive collection of spares and documentation. A tender with a low-hour Mercury 3.5 outboard is included. The boat draws 5 feet and carries a 57-foot 6-inch mast, suited to inland waterway sailing.
