The 1985 Californian 35 is a sedan-bridge motor yacht built on a solid fiberglass modified-V hull. Twin naturally aspirated Caterpillar 3208 diesel engines deliver 210 horsepower each and are paired with synchronizers for coordinated operation. The yacht cruises at 16 knots and reaches approximately 20 knots at maximum speed. A 4-kilowatt Westerbeke diesel generator provides auxiliary power.
The interior layout centers on a bright main salon with a lower helm station, large wraparound windows, and ample headroom. An aft stateroom serves as the master cabin with full-beam proportions, cabinetry, hanging lockers, and an en-suite head with dedicated shower. A forward guest stateroom features a V-berth with storage drawers and separate day head access. The galley is positioned below the salon and includes a refrigerator, multi-burner stove, microwave, and double stainless-steel sinks.
Deck spaces include a flybridge with centerline captain's chair and passenger bench seating offering 360-degree visibility, plus an aft deck entertaining platform with direct access to the swim platform. Secure side decks are lined with heavy-duty stainless steel bow and handrails. Fuel capacity is 270 gallons and freshwater capacity is 75 gallons.
Recent work includes replacement of the aft-deck canvas, a new hot water heater, and installation of a Garmin GPS chartplotter. Electronics comprise autopilot, radar, VHF radio, depthfinder, and stereo system with floodlight.
