1985 Grand Banks 36 Classic

The Grand Banks 36 Classic is a fiberglass sedan-bridge trawler powered by a single Caterpillar 3208 diesel engine. Built in 1985, this 36-foot yacht cruises at 7 knots and reaches a maximum speed of 9 knots. The boat accommodates up to five guests across two staterooms—a forward V-berth cabin and an aft master stateroom—each with its own ensuite head. The main deck features a large salon with teak parquet flooring, multiple settees with storage, a teak bar, and opening windows on all sides. An upper galley contains a three-burner propane stove with oven, air fryer, and dual refrigeration. The elevated helm offers full instrumentation with both upper and lower steering stations, each equipped with independent controls.

The flybridge spans the upper deck with a fully outfitted helm station, teak planking, extended bimini top, and modular seating with storage. Navigation electronics include a Raymarine chartplotter, radar, autopilot, two VHF radios, and depth sounders. A 3.5-kilowatt generator and 3000-watt inverter/battery charger support the electrical system, with three new batteries installed in 2024. Fresh water cooling, two automatic bilge pumps, and a halon fire suppression system serve the mechanical systems.

Recent work includes new aluminum fuel tanks, teak decks refinished to glass and non-skid surfaces in 2015, a rebuilt electric windlass in 2024, a new 5-horsepower Honda outboard installed in 2024, a 10-gallon water heater from 2019, and a holding tank macerator pump updated in 2023. A 2018 dinghy with teak cradle completes the package. The boat includes bridge enclosure, windlass, radar, autopilot, air and heat, generator, full galley, portable ice maker, and a second refrigerator.
