Breezin is a 1985 Catalina 30 Tall Rig, a fiberglass sloop built to cruise the Chesapeake Bay and beyond. The Universal M25 diesel engine produces 18 horsepower and has logged 3,757 hours. It starts reliably and runs well, backed by recent maintenance including new exhaust piping and zincs in 2024, new engine hoses in 2023, and a serviced shaft stuffing box in 2022. The boat carries a Hurth transmission with a 2.05:1 ratio and a one-inch stainless prop shaft fitted with a folding propeller.
The interior layout features a V-berth forward, a spacious main cabin, and a quarterberth aft, with a teak and Formica finish in good condition. The manual head includes a 20-gallon holding tank, and the boat has a pressurized freshwater system with 43-gallon capacity. The aluminum mast and boom are in good condition, supporting a serviceable mainsail and roller-furling jib. A new spinnaker and spinnaker pole were added in 2024. Running rigging is serviceable, and standing rigging of rod and wire is in working order. Lewmar winches provide handling power on deck.
Electronics include a Garmin depth finder with speed and temperature functions, an older but functional VHF radio, and updated wiring installed in 2021. Navigation is aided by a Ritchie compass replaced in 2021, and an autopilot is included. Shore power (30A) is available. Deck equipment includes a bimini, an outdoor propane grill, a custom swim platform with ladder, and dual ground tackle consisting of a plow anchor, a Danforth anchor, and independent rodes with approximately 150 feet of chain.
Recent maintenance and updates include a bottom paint applied in spring 2025, AC wiring upgraded in 2021 with GFCI outlets, and new smoke and carbon monoxide detectors installed in 2025. A June 2025 survey noted minor elevated deck moisture in a few areas with fittings rebedded for monitoring, minor rudder delamination in a four-inch extension that remains structurally sound, and identified that a cutlass bearing will be due at the next haul-out.
