1985 Catalina 36

The Catalina 36 is a fiberglass sailing yacht built in 1985, measuring 36 feet in length with an 11.75-foot beam. Powered by a Universal M25XP diesel engine, it cruises at 7 knots and reaches 8 knots at maximum speed. The boat features a traditional two-cabin layout with one head and accommodates six people across the cabins.

The main saloon includes a dining area with seating, a well-equipped galley with stove, refrigerator, and generous storage, and a navigation table. The forward cabin has a large double berth with ample locker space and skylights for natural light, while the aft cabin offers a second double berth. Ventilation fans and Den-Dry under-mattress systems address moisture control. The head includes a shower, stainless steel sink, and manual toilet.

Recent upgrades include standing rigging replaced in 2024, running rigging updated in 2022, and a new Kuuma water heater installed in 2022. The PSS dripless shaft seal was replaced in 2021. Electrical systems comprise three Trojan T1275 lead-acid house batteries, a Victron 1200W inverter, and a Blue Sea automatic charging relay. The engine shows 375 hours since the tachometer was replaced.

Deck equipment includes a Maxwell windlass, 33-pound Rocna anchor with galvanized chain and three-strand rode, Simrad VHF radio, and Ritchie compass. Four Lewmar primary and cabin-top winches facilitate sail handling with stainless steel slides on the main mast. Safety gear includes a six-person life raft and Ocean Signal EPIRB. Water capacity is 45 gallons, fuel tank holds 32 gallons, and holding tank capacity is 15 gallons.
