This 1985 C&C 44 is a fiberglass sloop built for both competitive racing and comfortable cruising. The 44-foot hull carries a 13.25-foot beam and is powered by a single 44-horsepower Yammer diesel engine. The boat was kept in fresh water and has undergone extensive recent maintenance and upgrades across its systems and structure.
Below deck, the yacht offers two cabins and two heads. Recent work includes a new propane stove and oven, a keel cooler refrigeration system, upgraded water heater and system components, and improved ventilation with fans in the main, forward, and aft cabins. The galley features new countertops with a deeper sink and upgraded faucet. Interior spaces have been repainted, and teak with modern adhesive finishes the cockpit seats and sole. Cabin lighting has been upgraded to red lights for night operations, and replaced ports include larger opening ports in the cockpit.
The boat carries dual redundant autopilot systems with remote controls and comprehensive electronics: twin networked radar displays on a gimbaled tower, an Icom VHF radio, instrument upgrades, a NEMA 2K backbone, a cell booster, and an inverter. Power management includes a high-output Balmar alternator, an increased house battery bank, a dedicated engine battery, and a battery monitor. A retractable bow sprit enables asymmetrical spinnaker flying, and an inner forestay with furling staysail is fitted alongside a storm tri-sail track.
The sail inventory is substantial and diverse, including multiple mainsails, a broad range of headsails from light to heavy, storm jibs and tri-sail, and both asymmetrical and symmetrical spinnakers from various manufacturers. Many sails are recent or lightly used. Additional equipment includes a windlass with custom anchor roller, sound-insulated engine compartment, replaced life lines and running rigging, and LED running lights.
