The J/44 is a 44-foot fiberglass racer-cruiser built in 1989, powered by dual Yanmar diesel engines of 80 horsepower each. It features a single-cabin layout with one head and carries the A-layout configuration that has made this design popular among both competitive and cruising sailors since its 1988 introduction.
The boat has undergone significant recent work. A new Yanmar engine and transmission were installed, the deck received fresh paint, and all varnish on the deck, cockpit, and hatches was refreshed. Hardware was removed and re-bedded by New England Boatworks as part of a professional maintenance program. The yacht is ready for both racing and extended cruising.
With a 13.5-foot beam and proven offshore capability, the J/44 design has established itself across 14 countries through numerous ocean passages, regatta victories, and extended cruising voyages.
