1985 CS 30

This 1985 CS 30 is a Canadian-built fiberglass sloop designed for comfortable cruising and responsive sailing. The boat features a shoal draft keel of 4 feet 3 inches, making it well-suited to shallow-water exploration. Power comes from a Volvo Penta 18 hp diesel engine with approximately 2,500 hours; the impeller was replaced and the engine serviced in 2024. The hull is equipped with a manual bilge pump, antifouling bottom paint, and a two-blade propeller on a direct drive system.

The deck layout includes dinghy davits, self-tailing manual winches, and a full cockpit enclosure installed in 2023. The spar plan is a masthead sloop with aluminum spars carrying two furling headsails (the 145% genoa is new from 2021) and two mainsails. Navigation equipment comprises a Standard Horizon VHF and depthsounder. Recent updates include six new porthole windows with screens and caps, new hatch lenses, and a lithium battery system with solar panels for house power.

Below decks, the interior features teak and holly flooring throughout the main salon, which has port and starboard bench seating with upgraded upholstery and an adjustable wooden table. The forward cabin has a V-berth for two, the aft cabin holds a double berth, and the salon benches provide additional sleeping space for a total capacity of four to six. The galley is fitted with a 12V/120V refrigerator-freezer, a two-burner Force 10 Marine gimballed propane stove, and a stainless steel sink. A dedicated head includes a manual flush toilet, sink, and shower.

The boat carries 18 gallons of fuel, 30 gallons of fresh water, and a 25-gallon waste tank, with a hot water heater aboard. A winter storage cover and cradle are included. Various spare parts and cruising gear complete the package.
