The 1985 Ericson 28-2 is a fiberglass performance cruiser with a 28-foot length and 10.5-foot beam. It's powered by a 2018 Beta 14 diesel engine with 13.5 horsepower and zero hours, paired with a new drive shaft, coupler, and Max Prop. The boat cruises at 5 knots with a maximum speed of 6 knots.
Substantial structural work has been completed throughout. The keel was separated, inspected, and its bolts found in sound condition; it was then encapsulated in fiberglass and sealed with Sikaflex and new keel nuts with wavelok washers. The mast step was rebuilt with a new aluminum backing plate. The keel and rudder have both been refinished with vinylester barrier coat. The entire bottom was sanded, treated with vinylester barrier coat, and gelcoated, ready for anti-fouling paint application.
The standing and running rigging is new, supplied by The Rigging Company. A new Harken furling system and whisker pole on track have been installed. All chainplates are new, fitted by RigRite with Compass Marine Buytl Tape. Deck hardware was re-bedded with Sikaflex 295. The fuel system is new, including a new fuel tank. The stemhead was checked and re-bedded with new hardware, and the anchor locker was re-bedded with an enlarged drain hole. The cockpit deck has been re-done, and the steering pedestal was rebuilt and painted.
Various additional new parts and hardware are included with the boat.
